SCARBOROUGH, ONT.- Behind a pair of goals from striker Francesca Pedulla, the Seneca Sting shut out the Centennial Colts, 4-0, at AWC Colts Pitch (Progress) in what was the regular season finale for both teams.

Midfielder Jocelyne Vasquez and defender Brianna Lena had a goal each for Seneca as the Sting scored three goals within a five minute span in the second half to turn a close game into a blowout. The Sting dominated possession throughout the game and it showed in the shot column as well, as Seneca fired away 21 shots on goal compared to the Colts' two on goal.

Kaitlyn James had to stop only two shots in earning the clean sheet.

Seneca opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Vasquez fired a lob shot in the top left corner past an outstretched Michelle Philip, who made 17 saves in defeat.

The Sting had multiple chances for the rest of the half and at the start of the second half but Philip kept them at bay until the 67th minute. After Philip deflected a low shot from forward Victoria Harvey, Lena grabbed the rebound and fired the ball into the vacant left corner.

Pedulla then scored both her goals in the 70th and 72nd minutes, with the latter coming on a chip shot that sailed over the arms of Philip.

Centennial finished the 2017-18 season with a 1-9-2 record while Seneca concluded with a 9-2-1 record.
